Unpaid. Christmas Day? Unpaid. Spring break? Unpaid. I use my breaks to plan for the next six weeks, complete professional learning and rejuvante. Teachers work hard, are underpaid for the education they have earned and are underappreciated in our society. Fine. I can live with that. But please take my professional opinion that the balanced calendar is working for our children. They are achieving more academically and I can prove it with the data from my classroom. |
