Ban Gareth Cliff from ALL forms of Media - NOW!!!

The tone of GCliff's letter is derisive and demeaning - this is a tone of voice white South Africans only use towards black south africans when they want to indicate that they think black people are stupid. Instead of enquiring what actually offends people about this, there's this knee jerk response from white people that a black person is 'pulling the race card' -- I don't think ANY white south african is in a position to claim that THEY are the ones that decide what is and what is not racist!!

GCliff blames the govt for the problems in this country without acknowledging how the deliberate destruction of development for centuries has contributed to this problem. Where was the white, capitalist owned media in SA under apartheid, when the government went on murderous raids and THE MEDIA DID NOTHING??

GGliff's remarks calling innocent children 'bastards' smack of a dark ages morality that has no place in South Africa ... whether or not you agree with polygamy you should not stigmatise children! This is highly offensive. As many children in this country are born out of the Western arrangement of marriage, according to GCliff, they are 'bastards' -- this is a sick way to talk about children. How can anyone think this is acceptable? The Western version of marriage is ONE cultural form of union -- there are many other arrangements in other cultures throughout the world. To make out that anyone who does not follow the Western practice is open to such derisions is elitest and bigotted.

GCliff is clearly an arrogant little prick who thinks he knows how to run this country better than others. Yes, there are lots of service delivery problems here, but the real reason we are the laughing stock is that white people such as GCliff continue to dominate the airwaves even tho we live in a country where white people are a tiny minority.

We should in fact have FEW white DJs and radio show hosts, given the demographics, but of course, the media is white supremacist, they hire white supremacists and we continue to have white supremacists spewing their disgusting lower-than-low hatred on a daily basis.

It's time for this to stop. Get Gareth Cliff and the bulk of other white males off the air and bring radio presentation in line with the demographics of this country. After all, talking on the radio is NOT rocket science! You don't need an education to do it, and GCliff's ignorant and abysmal comments show that in fact, being a stupid egotist is what actually counts when it comes to being a radio show host... so rather please give us black female presenters -- they can't be any worse than this. Rudi Direko, for example is BRILLIANT (despite her superficial consumerism which I think she should not flaunt so much in a country where so many live in dire poverty).
