Comments

#1205

Replace moot court with pvt and it should be included in LLb instead .

Lebohang Silawula (Tshwane, 2026-03-17)

#1206

I am signing the petition because i am one of those LLB students from disadvantaged background.

Nomvete Matobolo (Polokwane, 2026-03-17)

#1217

Because it a heavy burden for graduate as especially those who come from disadvantaged families.

Thapelo Shongwe (Mbombela, 2026-03-18)

#1218

I fully support this petition. The cost of PVT places an enormous and unjustifiable burden on law graduates — many of whom are already disadvantaged students who sacrificed greatly just to complete their degrees. Requiring them to independently fund yet another expensive hurdle before they can practise is not a standard of excellence; it is a barrier to entry that quietly filters out the very people this profession needs most.
A nation governed by law cannot afford a legal profession shaped by financial privilege. PVT must be integrated into the academic curriculum , funded, structured, and accessible to every qualifying student , because justice should not depend on whether you can afford the road to it.

Rolivhuwa Ndou (Polokwane, 2026-03-18)

#1221

I'm signing because as a student currently studying LLB I will not be able to pay any additional fees to further my studies after Ihave obtained my LLB degree. I support Thendo Livhalani's vision "We're only asking Legal Practice Council, Law Society of South Africa, and LEAD to change and integrate the 6 months PVT course into the LLB curriculum."

Dakalo Ralubuvhi (Port Elizabeth, 2026-03-18)

#1226

I am signing so that the LLB curriculum can have PVT, so that LLB graduates dont have to pay more than they can afford to get those practices.

Karabo Hlaodi (Orkney, 2026-03-18)

#1227

I'm signing this petition because I want to end the financial injustice on young aspiring law practitioners who come from financially disadvantage backgrounds.

Senzesihle Qwabe (Durban, 2026-03-18)

#1229

It makes no sense paying 22 000 when you are unemployed

I am a candidate and I am struggling to pay PVT

Lehlohonolo Lucky Mosebi (BLOEMFONTEIN, 2026-03-18)

#1242

I am also from a family that cannot afford PLT

Thandolwethu Mazibuko (Bloemfontein, 2026-03-18)

#1243

I believe the current system unfairly disadvantages many LLB graduates who come from financially struggling backgrounds. Paying thousands of rands for mandatory practical training delays entry into the legal profession and excludes talented graduates. Practical training should be part of the LLB curriculum so that access to the profession is based on ability, not financial status.

Sboniso Khumalo (Soweto, 2026-03-18)

#1248

I'm signing this because legal practice is far more important than moot court and believe that the comparison you are making is reasonable. I myself am a Llb student and was shocked at the price for the Law practice courses. I believe that the inclusion of LPC in the Llb curriculum will equip future graduates with the practical knowledge we will need in order practice. I hope this petition is successful and is implemented as it will further transform legal academic culture.

Yaaseen Albany (Gqeberha, 2026-03-18)

#1253

Am a final year LLB student

Sibusiso Makhonjwa (Kwaggafontein, 2026-03-18)

#1256

I think it's not fair for LLB graduates to pay for PVT, It should be included in the curriculum like education students who are doing practicals

Kamogelo Kgowa (Hammanskraal, 2026-03-18)

#1257

I’m signing because I agree with what is being said. It is difficult to secure articles, we deserve to be treated the same way and be given articles like medical students get to be placed in hospitals.

Amahle Ntshangase💕 (Durban, 2026-03-18)

#1262

I agree with this petition

Matsie Maruma (Pretoria, 2026-03-18)

#1268

I’m signing this petition because I’m also one of LLB graduates who can’t afford PVT/PLT so I’m stacked with my LLB Degree.

Khwezi Madolo (East London, 2026-03-18)

#1269

The practicals must be on fair state as other degrees.

Lesego Tlhabadira (Pretoria, 2026-03-18)

#1272

Because what is happening to law students is unfair . BED and MBCHB students do their practicals during their studies but we have to pay for practicals and law schools ? We get paid peanuts as candidate Attorneys ! People from disadvantaged backgrounds suffer

Thandolwethu Cebekhulu (Ladysmith, 2026-03-18)

#1273

I am signing because I'm of those students who can not afford PVT and I'm done with my two year articles but I can not be admitted even if I pass all my board exams

#1278

Zag

Zikhona Anthea Gcilitshana (Cape Town, 2026-03-18)

#1279

It is indeed a change that is of paramount importance to all the future legal minds and it does not assist us as disadvantaged black students but it seeks to infringe our rights of access to higher education.

Nontobeko Nhleko (Kwadlangezwa, 2026-03-18)

#1282

I believe that the fees should at least be inclusive of students from low-income families.

Anisa Sithonga (East London, 2026-03-18)

I am a final year LLB student and won't be able to afford 22k for PVT.

Lucas Mahlangu (TSHWANE, 2026-03-19)

#1303

I am one of those underprivileged students that will not be able to afford law school after finishing my degree.
I would love to finally become an advocate and not having PVT into LLB Curriculum is a constraint.

Moipone Musi (East London, 2026-03-19)

#1304

I'm signing this because I think it is a valid point that the above mentioned be part of university curriculum.

Mzolisi Petse (Umthatha, 2026-03-19)

Monwabisi Somhambi (Mthatha, 2026-03-19)

#1324

I'm a law student from a disadvantages background. We graduate but cannot get jobs because of the expensive nature of law school. This is a systemic exclusion of black students

Clenda Ndhlovu (Polokwane, 2026-03-19)

#1328

I am a law student my self. Im currently an NSFAS beneficiary. I will not be able to afford the money that will be required by PVT. I am amongst the people who come from disadvantaged families. This change will help me and everyone who comes after me greatly!

Charity Nyathi (Mbombela, 2026-03-19)

#1330

I am signing this petition because I believe it is unfair for unemployed graduates to pay R22k for Practical for 6 months yet they do not have an income to be able to pay.

ZENANDE SOTONDOSHE (EAST LONDON, 2026-03-19)

#1331

I am also a law student and I understand the struggles that law graduates go through when it comes to paying for law school.

Unity Mahlase (Cape Town, 2026-03-19)

#1332

I'm signing this because I am underprivileged overacheiver who cares about my future.

Amaarah Jones (Cape Town, 2026-03-19)

#1333

As LLB students coming from disadvantage background, it is unjust for us. Imagine being on your most stressful academic final year and still having to stress about how and where you going to get the money for the 6 months PVT. The system in these circumstances is just in favor of those who are financially stable not the previously marginalized. Therefore I stand with colleagues about the proposal.

Sinolwethu S6 (Cape Town, 2026-03-19)

#1335

There should be equality for this opportunity amongst all students who are doing the LLB course.

Jessica Scott (Cape Town, 2026-03-19)

#1337

It makes sense, we don't have to pay for practicals whereas other fields of study don't pay. Equality.

Retshidisitswe Mantjeane (Kutlwanong, 2026-03-19)

#1338

I am signing because I believe that transforming the PVT curriculum into an LLB curriculum will raise the academic and professional standards of legal education, better preparing students for the demands of the legal profession.

MONICA NOGAAN (Kariega, 2026-03-19)

#1343

Because I understand why practicals are required to be a lawyer. As a law student myself, I've seen more of my seniors struggling to get practicals

NEO MAHASHA (Cape Town, 2026-03-19)

#1344

I'm signing because I'm a 2nd year law student.

Yondikapa Fana (Cape Town, 2026-03-19)

Chris Makate (Mahikeng, 2026-03-19)

#1361

To include PVT into LLB curriculum

Mmakopa Kekana (Pretoria, 2026-03-19)

#1362

I'm signing this petition because not everyone who's persuading an LLB degree can afford to pay the PVT fees, hence it's highly recommended that PVT becomes part of the LLB curriculum because in that way students will not pay for it financially but academically instead as we all know that there's NSFAS to help students financially.

Sphumelele Miya (Durban, 2026-03-19)

#1363

I can not be paying for practicals when I do not even have a job and come from a disadvantaged background, this is one of the reasons people in SA do not have savings how are we supposed to save money for the amelioration of the country if we busy buying laptops, food, paying bills and even have to pay for practicals instead of preparing for board exams were are gathering money to pay for practicals!!!!.

Bantele Katlyn (Pretoria, 2026-03-19)

#1366

I’m a law student who has law students friends and most of us are not from advantaged backgrounds so the PVT will definitely put a toll on us.

Molebogeng Thipane (Pretoria, 2026-03-19)

#1368

A law student

Mtshezi Simphiwe (Pietermaritzburg, 2026-03-20)

#1371

I am signing this petition because I am an unemployed LLB graduate who comes from a poor background and cannot afford to pay for PLT. Hence I believe PLT/PVT should be made part of the LLB curriculum.

Yandiswa Mthiba (Pietermaritzburg, 2026-03-20)

#1372

I'm signing because I myself have graduated with Bachelor of Laws, using Nsfas and come from disadvantage family background where everyone is uneducated and unemployed, I'm struggling to raise money for PLT since I too am unemployed, I can't even secure PVT because they require atleast someone who had completed PLT. I Also support an opinion that PVT should be part of LLB curriculum or the should be funds for PLT.

Mahlatse Murudu (Ekurhuleni, 2026-03-20)

#1378

I agree with the notion

Tebogo Mogale (Pretoria, 2026-03-20)

#1379

I want PVT to be included into the LLB curriculum

Karabo Elizabeth (Bela Bela, 2026-03-20)

#1381

I agree with the points raised by Thendo Livhalani. If something is required for students, it should be part of the curriculum because students from the missing middle and disadvantaged backgrounds cannot afford to pay R22k, especially after paying tuition for the first four years of the LLB.

Zamandaba Zulu (Cape Town, 2026-03-20)

#1383

I'm a law student

Kgositsile Lebeko (Bultfontein, 2026-03-20)

Cebo Mabena (Kwamhlanga, 2026-03-20)

#1390

I'm also a Law student and I don't want to face this challenge after graduating.

Ephinea Duiker (Fochville, 2026-03-20)

#1392

Law school is expensive for, low income parents and it must be included in the LLB curriculum

Salome Cynthia Egenkika (Polokwane, 2026-03-20)

#1400

Because we need practical’s as law students doing LLB on our forth year, some people cannot afford to pay for practicals. The same way other degrees have practical we would also appreciate that
