Like so many other music students that went through Bedford North Lawrence music programs, I had many wonderful teachers. Mr Rumsey always set a professional, respectful and safe environment in which to learn music and the arts. He always provided opportunities for so many of us to learn the love and appreciation of music. I fondly remember some of the high school musicals in which I could take part in the musical orchestra. His passion for music and teaching were obvious to all his students and their families. And Knowing a little bit about him personally, I can think of no one who deserves this honor for his selfless devotion to the wellbeing and mentoring of so many Lawrence county children throughout his long tenure.Jason Kirkman (Mount Prospect , 2019-11-07)
