Émilie Thuillier, mayor of Ahuntsic-Cartierville, responded to my letter by clarifying some budget details of the Henri-Bourassa redevelopment project, including contracts related to water infrastructure. She defended the project by stating:
“Le projet Henri-Bourassa était au cœur de notre plateforme électorale de 2021 et de notre vision pour l'arrondissement. En ce sens, les résidents se sont prononcés à travers le processus démocratique ultime que sont les élections afin d'approuver et aller de l'avant avec ce projet.”

She also claimed the Ombudsman of Montreal approved the project — despite serious concerns about the lack of transparency and unclear methodology behind public consultation. She did not provide details on how residents were surveyed or who was included in the sample. I have sent a second letter requesting clarification and accountability.

Though she assures that citizens' concerns are taken seriously, several local business owners I spoke with told me they were consulted but ignored, and no solutions were offered to mitigate the impacts. I emphasized in my letter: words aren't enough — the city needs to act.

Now more than ever, we need your help to spread this petition. Share it widely so we can stand together and demand transparency and responsible use of our public funds.
