Community Premises are used by small organisations and parking charges will discourage them to use the premises.

The original designated parking spaces should remain as they were before. Any reduction of these spaces will be detrimental to the community members using the Community premises in carrying out their services to the public.

It is vital that Caraa Mia members are given free car parking as they already spend their time and petrol money.

Carramea is already seeing a reduction of use of the Resource Centre, as groups leave quickly or before time for fear of a ticket. Everyone loses with no parking, the resource Centre - in lower usage making the Centre harder to sustain; the local authority - insufficient income as no on stays long anyway; and the local community - fewer services and poor accessibility hitting the hardest to reach and most vulnerable!
