I'm signing because I have witnessed first hand what Karen has done for Mavis this is a heartbreaking situation 💔

Karen Thomas (Port Talbot, 2026-01-26)

#2

Im so shocked at how Mavis has been cut off from seeing the one person Karen who has cared and looked after her for all these years and how her animals have been tossed out like rubbish onto street and debts left with Karen

Helen Morley (Caerphilly, 2026-01-26)

#4

I think Mavis should have her friends around her.
And her animals should be taken care of

April Smith (Glasgow, 2026-01-26)

#5

I know mavis and I know mavis is sound of mind, she has no relationship with her family. Her carer was her family. Her family are taking advantage and not doing anything in mavises best interest. Mavis should be safeguarded and het wishes should be in her interest not her families or Samj Isik.

Amanda Darwin (Didim, 2026-01-26)

#11

I'm signing this petition on behalf of Mavis to have her wishes carried out. Mavis wanted her animals cared for after she passes away. Karen has cared for Mavis for many years now as well as being a good friend. Mavis will die alone in a care home which is very cruel and inhumane. Karen has evidence of being there for Mavis and looking after her all Mavis wanted was her animals to be cared for and not thrown out onto the street.

Maureen Kerr (Glasgow, 2026-01-26)

#12

I am supporting Karen because I know what she is saying is true and Mavis should have justice.

Dawn Fossey (Bodrum, 2026-01-26)

#15

Karen and Mavis are family, Karen had been there looking after her Mavis’s physical and emotionally wellbeing. Her son has been nowhere near Mavis he is not acting in his mothers best interest what is currently happening to Mavis is shocking to say the least.

Joanne Slavin (Liverpool, 2026-01-26)

#17

Mavis has the right for her wishes

Michelle Jones (Liverpool, 2026-01-26)

#18

I care for both Mavis and Karen.

Carol Merrigan (Didim, 2026-01-26)

#19

Mavis deserves so much better than this, you Karen are her one true friend who she trusted dearly. I do truly hope you do get to see her again, I know you will carry out her wishes. What her family and translator are doing is barbaric and greed, and leaving an old lady to die on her own , a prisoner in a care home bed. You were asked by Mavis to do what was said above , and I am witness to that and so are many others.

Susan Odonnell (Glasgow, 2026-01-26)

This is an injustice to a vulnerable adult 9967

Susan Murphy (Glasgow, 2026-01-26)

#22

I think it is morally wrong whats being done to mavis her animals and her own wishes being ignored and not being allowed visitors in the care home from friends that have been looking after her when her own family haven't been bothering with her for nearly 8yrs

Kathleen Logue (Glasgow, 2026-01-26)

#23

I know you have always been there for Mavis

Zilpha Griffiths (Didim, 2026-01-26)

#24

Mavis’ wishes were to provide for her animals. Please allow this to happen

Sacha Eddie (Edinburgh, 2026-01-26)

#25

Knowing Mavis for many years, I know that she would always put her animals first. Also, as proud woman, she would have wanted her debts paid off.

Sue Abbott (Worthing, 2026-01-26)

#26

I support Mavis, who is terminally ill and is being subjected to financial abuse.

Angela Doyle (Port Talbot, 2026-01-26)

#29

Mavis deserves to have her dying wishes carried out by people who genuinely love and care for her and to be treated with dignity.

Karen ıs correct in everything she says,Mavis has been her friend for years…and her wishes should be followed completly…her family arediscusting and greedy, they we’re never there for her when she needed them at all,I know Mavis personally..please email me for any information needed to help my poor friend.

Linda whelan Whelan (Denbighshire, 2026-01-26)

#35

I am outraged of how here family are treating her ,considering they have not had anything to do with her for 9 years ,its disgusting how Karen has been there for Mavis for all that time and now refused to see her on her last days ,having her die alone is out of order and not right.

Bernadette Waters (Halifax, 2026-01-26)

#36

I am signing this because I have known Karen for a few years and the work she has done with street animals. Karen is a wonderful caring person and her relatiomship with Mavis is more like mother and daughter. Karen just wants to fulfill mavis's last wishes to look after her animals and ensure she has sufficient funds to do this

Dot Manning (Ellesmere port, 2026-01-26)

#39

Karen is the only person that has looked after Mavis for many years and her animals. It will break Mavis heart not to be able to see Karen

Carol Hook (Stoke-on-trent, 2026-01-26)

#42

Karen has looked after Mavis so beautifully for years while her so called family, lived their lives while ignoring her.

Lynda Richardson (OXSHOTT, 2026-01-26)

#45

I have apartment in Didim and have met Mavi’s multiple times with Karen. I know how much she loves her animals and how she relied on Karen to assist with life in Turkey.

Maggie Trotter (Edinburgh, 2026-01-26)

#46

I know mavis and karen very well and what is happening is vey unfair

Scott Caroline (Plymouth, 2026-01-26)

#48

I know how much Karen and Mavis meant to each other

Karen Kinkead (Croydon, 2026-01-26)

#50

I believe Mavis still has rights. She is being confined in a place where her closet friends cannot visit her and her personal possession removed. Her beloved pets, being her main priority, have been disowned and thrown out like rubbish which would cause such distress to her as it has those left fighting to look after them. I believe Karen to be such a kind and compassionate person who only wants to carry out the wishes of her dear friend Mavis and to gain financially from this situation would go against her nature. As long as mavis' pets are paid and cared for and Mavis is allowed her voice back to declare who she wishes to visit her, I believe Karen will carry out her wishes as she has Mavis best wishes at heart.

Kellie Tunc (Veliko tarnovo, 2026-01-26)

#51

I met Mavis on my visits to Didim and can vouch for the fact that the wishes she expressed regarding her property and animals are exactly as described by Karen Wren

Dawn Sammons (Purfleet-on-thames, 2026-01-26)

#52

It's the right thing to do for Mavis.

Dawn Fossey (Bodrum, 2026-01-26)

#57

I'm signing this as Karen has been the only one to help mavis and her animals. Her family haven't bothered with her for years. So as soon as Mavis is dying, they come flocking....
Let's help Karen get the help and support that she and mavis needs. Her family are frauds...
Something needs doing to give Karen full responsibility of mavis.... So she can sort her care and financial support..
Mavis family are Fake.
End off...

Mandie Turberfield (West Midlands, 2026-01-26)

Help Karen, Help Mavis, Help her animals! This individual is well know in didim for all the wrong reasons
A lot of our people know this too!
I will contact you with more information, Stay strong!

Ali Kaya (Aydin, 2026-01-26)

I believe Mavis wishes should be followed & her animals cared for as she stated & her property not sold to the wrong people , poor lady is still alive & her family are trying to take everything she owns !!!

Julie Rands Rands (Ipswich, 2026-01-27)

#62

Mayvis would never throw her animals on the street. She would have them rehomed first. Than sell her son sell the house.

Mira Parlak (Didim, 2026-01-27)

#63

Mavis should have her best friend looking after her especially as they have been friends for over 20 years . And Mavis wishes that her house was sold and that all her animals were cared for in a loving environment

Hayley Hunter (Aydin, 2026-01-27)

#68

Injustice to Mavis and her animals.

Juz Storey (London, 2026-01-27)

#72

I have seen all the time and effort that Karen has spent with/on Mavis over the years. Just follow her social media dor proof on how much Mavis has relied on Karen and of how much Karen does for her. Regardless of whatever history is between Mavis and her family - NOBODY has the right to deny her her wishes nor to steal everything from her.

Jane Murrell (Ramsgate, 2026-01-27)

#73

I feel very strongly about this situation. I know how much Mavis loved her animals. And her wishes should be honoured .What her son is absolutely disgusting. He told karen he would not be seeing his ill mother he will not come over until her funeral. All he is interested is her money and nothing else. I have been with mavis on occasions and witness my self what her wishes were. She saw karen as her daughter .They were very close .Kare. as done so much fir Mavis so much more than her family have done .

Michelle Kaya (Exeter, 2026-01-27)

#81

Mavis is a lovely lady and loves her animals.

Margaret Lowrie (Westcliff-on-sea, 2026-01-27)

#82

I think it’s disgraceful the way Mavis and her animals have been treated, also from being isolated from her friends especially Karen. You should all hang your heads in shame, Mavis is very ill and need familiar faces round her. Absolutely shameful!!!

Judith Conlin (Newcastle Upon Tyne, 2026-01-27)

#83

I'm signing because the wishes of Mavis have been very clear for years, and Karen has looked after Mavis as she would her own mother. Karen has proof of Mavis's decisions on what was to happen to her estate in the event of her death. Her family are not acknowledging these wishes and holding her prisoner in the care home with no visitors allowed. I suppose Karen in trying to help Mavis achieve her final wishes.

Maureen McCorquindale (Irvine, 2026-01-27)

#86

I think it very unfair that Karen has looked after Mavis for years, when her family did not care. Now she has been blocked from visiting her dear friend & Mavis's animals have been thrown out onto the streets & no provision made for them.Mavis will be heartbroken if she knew what was happening to her beloved animals & best friend.

Yvonne Berryman (Harrogate, 2026-01-27)

#88

Karen s done amazing job with Mavis by looking after her cats and also looking after Mavis

Julie Adegbite (Crook, 2026-01-27)

#89

The way that Mavis and Karen have been treated is appalling. Her wishes should be followed regarding her animals and it is not right that Karen is expected to shoulder any costs having looked after Mavis for so long. She should be thanked endlessly for her kindness and Mavis should spend her final days peacefully knowing her animals are taken care of and seeing those she loves who have been there for her. Her human rights have been disregarded and all those responsible should be punished.

Julia Walford (Tunbridge Wells, 2026-01-27)

#91

I’m signing because of the cruel and inhumane way Mavis’s family are treating their dying mother. They are not allowing her friends to visit Mavis in her care home, basically putting her in solitary confinement and have also thrown her beloved cats and dogs onto the street to fend for themselves which something they are not used to. This is totally against Mavis’s wishes.

I am signing to raise serious concerns regarding the treatment of Mavis and the current restrictions placed upon her personal liberty, relationships, and expressed wishes.
The decision to prevent Mavis from seeing Karen and her established friends is unjustified and has caused her clear emotional distress. These individuals represent her primary support network, and there appears to be no lawful or proportionate basis for their exclusion.
Mavis has repeatedly and consistently expressed her wishes regarding the care of her animals, namely that they are to be properly cared for and not abandoned or discarded. These wishes have been clearly communicated and should be respected in accordance with principles of autonomy and best interest decision-making.
Furthermore, Mavis is currently being prevented from returning to her own home, contrary to her clearly stated wishes. There is growing concern that she is being kept in a situation against her will, without adequate justification, transparency, or evidence that this restriction is necessary, proportionate, or in her best interests.
I request an urgent review of Mavis’s circumstances, including:
The legal basis for restricting her freedom of movement and association
Whether her mental capacity has been properly assessed in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act
Whether her wishes, feelings, beliefs, and values have been adequately considered
The immediate arrangements for the welfare of her animals
This matter is causing significant distress to Mavis and those who care deeply for her. Failure to address these concerns promptly may require escalation to relevant safeguarding, regulatory, or legal bodies.
Yours sincerely,
April Swann

I am a regular visitor to Altinkum, every time i have seen Karen at fund raising events or at the shop, Mavis has always been with her; Karen looks after Mavis on a day to day basis, with whatever she needs; let Mavis have her dying wishes 😪😪

Helen Steele (Preston, 2026-01-28)

#112

Justice for mavis and her animals.
Her human rights have been taken from her, she's allowed no visitors and she will be wondering where I am or where her friends are.
What her family is doing is barbaric to a dying old lady 😡

Karen wren (Didim, 2026-01-28)

#113

When I lived in Didim Mavis was always with Karen, you could see the love and respect they had for each other, they were each others family. Mavis is unwell and doesn’t have long left and to keep the person she knows away from her is cruel and not giving her the respect she deserves.

Lyndsey Smith (Llanelli, 2026-01-28)

#119

It’s wrong what they are doing to Mavis, Karen has been like family over the years. Making sure Mavis doesn’t go without anything, that not only includes the basics like shopping but other things like friendships, socialising and getting her out. You can see in Mavis face how much she loves Karen and frankly without Karen’s support Mavis would have gone along time ago.

Ap Roz (Gillingham, 2026-01-28)

#120

I feel that this son is a disgrace to humanity what he has done is for sheer greed doing these awful things to his mother and her loved pets

Anne Hardy (Didim, 2026-01-28)

I like to support Karen in everything that she does. She as the biggest heart and always does her best for everyone

Julia Wheeler (Hereford, 2026-01-29)

This is an injustice. Geeedy relatives not allowing an old lady her last days of happiness.
Let her see Karen and her friends

Heather Gray (Edinburgh, 2026-01-29)

#133

MAVIS should be able to see her dear friend Karen who cared for her all this time and her pet family should be taken care of

Jackie Robinson (Leeds, 2026-01-30)

#136

I was on holiday and became friends with Karen and Mavis. We went to a curry charity event with them and spent time with Mavis. You could see how close Mavis is to Karen, it was lovely to see. Mavis deserves dignity at this time of her life. To separate her and Karen is such a disgrace. Mavis should be allowed to have visitors and her friends around her and not die alone
