I'm a opposing to these rule I do not feel comfortable in my skin as the school makes up change our clothing and hair but have double standard when it comes to the boys their rules are not valid they focus more on girls appearances than actually teaching they make us feel as though we cannot express ourselves fully as it brings "unwanted attention" but never have they once told the boys to look away or hold themselves hauu gane and on top of that theyare over here telling us gore edges are unneat 😭 like what do u even mean bro the only time my hair is neat is with edgesLovely Donkiie (Polokwane, 2025-04-16)

I personally relate to this because I feel like it's unreasonable for us to look a certain way just because it is "distracting" for male teachers, how about you tell those male teachers to stop thinking dirty bullshit because they don't know what self respect nor what self control is. We all have the right to free will isn't it?? So how the hell does our skirt length provoke male teachers to feel to feel a certain way, that is absolutely disgusting and absurd, me wearing a short skirt doesn't mean I seek attention from men, i personally think that as women we should stand by each other, what happened to women supporting other women, it's not about me dressing immodestly, it's about old men and boys over sexualizing everythingAnd guess what if I have to be taught how to act like a lady
Boys should be taught how to have self control and be a ******* man.
It's not us females that is the problem, it's the minds of men that are the problems

girl’s hair shouldnt be a problem in a school, as long it’s neat. you cannot treat this girls like you own them, try respecting them and they’ll respect you after.Motheo Mamabolo (polokwane, 2025-04-16)

It’s not okay how girls must be told how to wear their hair and be criticised in the name of “you must look neat”. We understand looking neat but that doesn’t mean the school must drag another female’s character.Naledi Modiba (Polokwane, 2025-04-16)

Black hair matters!!! They should stop addressing our hair but instead focus on fixing bad behaviour from learners that are stabbing each other and fighting. Why do we have to tie our hair up? Are we there to learn or be busy with hair stuff? Make it make sense!!!Lesedi Mokgohloa (Polokwane, 2025-04-17)

I am signing here because ion agree with the school rules and also that it is true that hair is a self-expression of pride!Khomotso Semenya (Polokwane, 2025-04-17)

Because they tell us to embrace our identity, but take away something that a black girl finds pride in. Doing ur hair has nothing to do with your academics and that's something the school needs to understand. Predators will still rape weather u have Benny and Betty or fulani braidsMildred Mokone (Polokwane, 2025-04-17)

I am signing this because Noorderland learners face many challenges but those challenges are never taken care of instead the school takes actions with people’s hair and clothing but not their safety. They say they care about the learners but can tell them to kill themselves. They only act as if they care in public but in private they really don’t. People get harassed, people get bullied ,people get stabbed and get involved in gang fights but those are never taken care of but they take action with how big our hair looks.Karabo Moleya (Polokwane, 2025-04-17)

It is so unfair for teachers to ban edges like?some even say that edges are the ones that makes us get raped like wtf?shouldnt a girl be confident about themselves??ppl are so insecure outside there..bcz some hide edges because of the foreheads, hairline, how the hair looks,or even try to look good!#WEWANTBACKOUREDGES

It's unfair for schools to police the way Black girls wear their hair, especially when it comes to things like edges, braids, or protective styles. These aren't just "looks" - they're part of our culture, our identity, and our history. Asking us to remove edges or forcing us to look a certain type of way isn't about professionalism or neatness, it's about erasing who we are. Our hair is a form of self-expression and pride, and trying to control it sends the message that our natural beauty and cultural style aren't acceptable. Schools should be a place where we feel safe, not somewhere we're told to hide our identity just to fit into someone else's idea of what's "appropriate."Hlohli Fumani (Johannesburg, 2025-04-17)

Is Noordeland a real school I mean what school looks at how the girl’s wear there stuff and there hair ain’t right and shirt ,what type of male teachers look at their girl students instead of looking you supposed to teach them and not look at them that’s basically rape or sexual harassment to me Stop this moronic behaviour and focus on yourselfLlane Ska warra (Polokwane, 2025-04-17)
