REMOVAL OF ILLEGAL SQUATTERS ON BLACKHILL

Because I walk there often, and several people have been accosted on Blackhill.

We cannot lose more of the environment to creeping encroachment by people. The city must find ways of housing them in regulated areas.

i live in stonehaven and i am worried about the criminal element of have squatters on our borders

They're starting to arrive on Kalk Bay mountain too. Immediately there is an increase in vandalism and petty crime in the area. Not to mention the filth they leave on our beautiful mountains. As well as polluting the rivers that flow off the mountain. Get them out!

Illegal squatters increase crime rate and turn the area into a rubbish pit.

The illegal squatters must be removed.

If You Live in The Suburbs, You Have No Right to Complain about Shack Dwellers.

Please take the time to read it, and consider how you might be contributing to the racist social systems that resulted in thousands, if not millions, of people being displaced in our country. We are not seperate from these issues and our myopic focus on our own safety is troubling to say the least. Has no-one any empathy? Or do we just care more about the value of our properties than human lives?

If the squatters are not removed the numbers will increase to where they are demanding land in the area and the crime and grime will be out of control. It already appears to be out of control as they should have been removed before now. Why not?

We are directly affected in that crime levels have increased in our area

I live in Capri Village and walk/hike from here to Elsies Peak, Glencairn, Red Hill - using existing hiking trails. The paths walked are now littered with rubbish - some may be blown there by the Cape Doctor, but a lot is from the squatters. It is also unhygenic for the people living there and must be incredibly cold these wet winter nights

For the safety & security of the community, I live in, I feel something needs to be done. The hope is that this petition can raise awareness, to our elected representatives locally & on a national level, that the public that elected them brings to their attention that safety & security is an important issue that urgently needs their attention all over SA. And that it is important to channel much more resources into training up more police officers to serve in the communities where crime is a serious issue due to poverty & lack of housing, employment & education.

To stop crime

I am one of the NHW patrollers in my area, and every nite that I patrol we find these squatters walking the streets of our neighbourhood at all times during the night. Their excuse is that they are taking a shortcut "home" which is in the mouthains above Capri! Quite often we see them on CCTV cameras carrying stuff which is later found to have been stolen, but we are too late to catch them.

because i care about the environment, fires destroy, and criminal behaviour is not acceptable

I am a resident of Capri and am worried about the increasing crime in our area , as a result devaluation of properties. We have always had little crime in our area and there has been a spike in crime in the past few months as a result of these squatters.

Uncontrolled areas are dangerous and promote illegal activity.

Too much crime in the area.

Crime is a serious problem in the area, not to mention the area is a bio-sensitive area and these peopke are squatting on it. Law and order must prevail .

Why is this being allowed? It endangers innocent peoples lives and well being.
