To: Eastern Summit County Planning Committee (ESCPC)

Project Description: 

Half way up Browns Canyon Rd, Grit Guest Ranch will be an off-grid home base for year-round recreational activities including winter snowshoeing & hiking, and summer activities such as adventure motorcycle training, backcountry traveling tips, & cooking clinics. The 50 acre ranch will have a training course built specifically for dual sport bikes, a large barn with a gathering space, kitchen, & bar, and 6 primitive yurts across the property. 

With adventure bikes rising fast in popularity, our purpose is to bring in certified, high end trainers that not only have the background and experience to teach proper technique, but that also share our vision of providing a safe & controlled environment for riders to learn in. Our goal is to provide a space that enables learning, in an environment that encourages adventure. Once students feel comfortable & confident, they’ll be taken on a range of day to multi-day rides throughout the surrounding Utah roads & communities.  And to show them our Utah best along the way, we’ll be supporting & promoting as much of our local purveyors and businesses as possible.

As residents and/or businesses of Summit County we understand that Grit Guest Ranch is proposing to build an adventure motorcycle training course within their guest ranch off of Brown’s Canyon Rd. We, the undersigned, recognize this unique offering and wholeheartedly support this venture as a welcomed offering within Summit County.

We encourage the ESCPC to unanimously approve their Conditional Use Permit as this will bring out-of-state revenue to both Utah and Summit County specifically.
