Medirest Catering Ward Host staff complaint about cooking Soup

We undersigned, Medirest Staff Barnet Hospital, Catering Staff  Ward Host and after conversation with our union rep Faycel Derbeli, we refuse to cooking soup in the Ward and we looking for a meeting to discuss this further for the reasons listed below: 

- The cooking soup not belongs to our job description and must be cooked in the Catering kitchen services staff. ( look the job description on the Compass Group UK & Ireland Ltd link below:

- The cooking soup is belong to the Catering kitchen services staff and this job duty was long ago been done by them

- The catering ward host staff always busy due to them duty to provide best services to the patient by : 

* Provide menus, take orders from patients and support with all dietary and allergen queries.

* Prepare and deliver all refreshments and meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner service.

* Clear down ward areas and wash up dirty dishes ensuring that the kitchen is fully prepared for next service.

* Liaise with ward staff to ensure patients' needs are met in a timely manner.

* Offer a great customer service by always putting the patient first. 

- If Medirest Catering management looking to add this job duty to our job description, we need to discuss this further with attendance of our Union Rep Faycel Derbeli, we entitled for get paid for it. 

- a Medirest Catering Manager generally cannot add a job duty to a ward host's role without consultation and agreement, even if a variations clause exists in the ward host's contract. While a variations clause might allow for changes to the contract, it typically requires a fair and reasonable process, including consultation with the affected employee. Adding a new duty without discussion could be seen as a breach of the implied duty of mutual trust and confidence, leading to potential employment tribunal claims.
