how can you say we live in a none sexist world when the fa prioritise the boys and make stupid decisions on girls football how can you make the decision if you have never played football in your life and you have never managed in grass routes football

Will this be another Balls-Up by The FA? Give the girls the money!
Guest#53 Jun 04, 2011, 15:17
Small town club syndrome IMO, I bet the likes of Arsenal etc. who don't really need the financial support, and who Watford Ladies compete with on a regular basis, have been granted a a continuance?

Watford Ladies are the type of club that really need the support and for some reason have not been granted it.

Why!!!

Solidarity & support from a parent of a Crewe Alex player - also now without a licence. Girls face an uphill struggle to play the game without the FA doing this to them. Shame on you FA - shame on you !

So typical of those who run football in this country - in fact "run" is the wrong word, it should be fail. They are little better than FIFA..
Guest#57 Jun 04, 2011, 15:45
The Centre of Excellence is part of a club that leads in this area, for both mens and women's football. It is something that the FA should be using as an example to others, including the bigger clubs, and not scrapping.

The leaders of football in both the National and the World game have not covered themselves in glory recently, and this is just another example of them making the wrong choices, possibly not for the benefit of the game as a whole.

Guest#60 Jun 04, 2011, 15:51

Guest#63 Jun 04, 2011, 15:54
Typical FA come on you can do better than this
Guest#64 Jun 04, 2011, 16:17
I think it is brilliant. The FA are so out of touch with the real world. Sack all the blazer brigade and bring in people who know football and what they are talking about.
Guest#65 Jun 04, 2011, 16:22
This action by the FA is totally wrong! What Academy's are now left in the south east of England! Watford is a Hertfordshire based club. Arsenal have a London licence, yet run from Hertfordshire!! How come Liverpool and Everton still keep their licences? We are more densley populated in the South East, if anything we should have more Academy's. Shame on the FA, something doesn't quite add up to me! The FA should be supporting this great club. We need answers now!

Crewe Alex another club renowned for their approach to youth development also lose their licence?

Just what are those lunatics at the FA smoking?
Guest#68 Jun 04, 2011, 16:29
please save them
Guest#69 Jun 04, 2011, 16:32
I too have had to break the news to a distraught 10 year old that she will not be playing for Crewe Alex this year as the FA have "chosen" not to give them Cof E status either, with no dignified or curteous explanation or apology. Good luck Watford.

Re:

If Crewe also have a petition, I am sure everyone connected with Watford COE would be happy to sign it too.

Guest#71 Jun 04, 2011, 16:40
I am emailing SKY who have been bold enough to show womens games,to claim how 2 faced the FA are, the national press to claim discrimination against girls who have to fight tooth and nail in sports to get anywhere anyway and the local press to ask why Cheshire has no Cof E now but Liverpool and Birmingham have 2, why all the clubs selected in the North West are affiliated to Premiereship clubs and why the FA appear so corrupt. Something very rotten in Denmark indeed.

Re: Re:

#70: - Re:

we have already swapped petition addresses in suppport for each other. I so wish that Kay Coosington had been the one to tell my 10 yr old daughter why she cannot play any more. I am sure she would have given her such valid and understanding reasons that she would not have cried for 2 hours.

Guest#73 Jun 04, 2011, 16:49
As a parent who has just lost the one true footballing experience that his daughter lived for at Crewe Alexandra Centre of Excellence, I feel that it is only right to support other Centres where I know there will be plenty of disgruntled parents and many, many upset girls. Do we next cut down on other girls sporting opportunities so that the talent is not 'diluted'. Let's hope they don't cut down on boys' opportunuties. Oh, hold on. THEY HAVEN'T!!!!
