Nijmegen should have an Edward van Halenstreet

Edward 'Eddie' van Halen is one of the greatest guitarists of all time alongside Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page. With his older brother Alex on drums, Eddie scored worldwide hits with his band Van Halen and sold millions of singles and albums.

Numerous fans and well-known musician praise van Halen; his playing style, sound and guitars are self-made. This has led to an own brand (EVH) which, among other things, releases guitars and amplifiers and is also getting bigger.

Eddie was born in Amsterdam but spent most of his Dutch time in Nijmegen, the oldest city in the country.

To date, the city council of Nijmegen has not taken the opportunity to honor her famous (former) resident with a street name and that is why this petition was created.

When visitors in the local rock cafe see that Nijmegen is the city of Eddie (and Alex) they always respond enthusiastically.

Imagine when 45,000 runners walk through the Edward van Halenstraat with the Four Days March and many thousands more throughout the city during the Four DayMarch Festivities.
