charity should begin at home
Guest#77 Feb 12, 2014, 10:43
Its high time the decision was made and adhered to!
Guest#78 Feb 12, 2014, 10:45
more money to be spent in this country, and not abroad until spare money is available
Guest#79 Feb 12, 2014, 10:46
Please keep up the pressure on the M P s to redirect the overseas aid
Guest#80 Feb 12, 2014, 10:47
I am so pleased to be able to sign for this petition as the flood victims need immediate attention!!
Guest#81 Feb 12, 2014, 10:50
I think it a nonsens for our P.M. to borrow money to give it away in overseas aid this practice should stop now.
Guest#82 Feb 12, 2014, 10:50
We help flood victims abroad--We are victims of the flood water. We should divert money going abroad to us in the UK.
Guest#83 Feb 12, 2014, 10:51
It is disgraceful that OUR Money goes overseas when WE ALLOW IT. Charity begins at home, and it is our money anyway! Why won't David Cameron listen to what people say. He will pay at the next election..
Guest#84 Feb 12, 2014, 10:52
i think that all foreign aid should be given to the victims. we are always the first to come forward with aid to other countries. No one helps us
Guest#85 Feb 12, 2014, 10:53
Government ministers should be aware we pa our taxes for the benefit of the British Isles. If we have spare cash we can then feed the world. What a sorry collection of idiots we have running this country.

The picture of Nick Clegg in the Daily Mail Shows how stupid he looks, what has he got to smile about. It just shows what a waste of space he is.
Guest#87 Feb 12, 2014, 10:56
we must start to look after our own country better in times of disaster.
Guest#88 Feb 12, 2014, 10:56
I am incandescent with rage at the inefficiency of this Government. Cameron has reacted at last but it is too little too late for those who have suffered terrible loss of homes, farms, businesses etc. I wholeheartedly agree that foreign aid should only be used where it is desperately needed and not on useless windfarms in Africa or giving cattle in South America better feed to prevent excessive methane gas escaping into the atmosphere!! I have completely lost faith in this Government - have they never heard of the saying CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME!
Guest#89 Feb 12, 2014, 10:57
aid to places like China and India is ludicrous and must be stopped and the money used to help our own flood victims.CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME
Guest#90 Feb 12, 2014, 10:59
good petition/ it's about time that we stopped supporting overseas causes.
How many countries have rushed to assist the UK.

This country is an island we should be following the Dutch and protecting our citizens and the invironment and not sending monies overseas to countries which are out performing ours.
Guest#93 Feb 12, 2014, 11:01
I think we waste to much money on forgein aid
Guest#94 Feb 12, 2014, 11:03
Charity Begins at HOME
Guest#95 Feb 12, 2014, 11:03
I totaly agree with this petition,I do feel for the other countries,We should come first.
Guest#96 Feb 12, 2014, 11:04
There doesn't appear to be any type of aid coming from the EU, was a comment I heard the other day.
No surprise there then. Once again we're on our own, yet as a nation, we are expected to give vast amounts in aid to other countries. This has got to stop.

Whilst I agree that we should help other nations less rich and successful as we are the present crisis needs massive investment to prevent, as much as we can, a recurrence. We are likely to have these problems for many years to come and now is the time to act- as Holland did after their disasters of 1953. Divert some of the aid money - £1 billion - now to start the process of repair and invest in schemes to prevent future flooding as and how we can. Afterwards, re-instate the aid programme.
Guest#98 Feb 12, 2014, 11:05
well done Daily Mail
Guest#99 Feb 12, 2014, 11:06
We should be helping our own before foreign aid.
Guest#100 Feb 12, 2014, 11:10
About time too. Charity begins at home not on the Indian space programme
