About time too
Guest#577 Feb 16, 2014, 11:31
thankyou for trying to help flood victoms
Guest#578 Feb 16, 2014, 11:49
I think it is disgusting the way UK's disaster is being dealt with. If it happened in another country we would be rushing money and help to them. What other countries are rushing to our help? Why not stop this senseless aid to other countries who no longer need it or it is misused. If there was a public vote on it I am sure it would be against the foreign aid.

Charity begins at home. Lets put our own house in order first.
Guest#580 Feb 16, 2014, 12:00

flood appeal

We need help here...now. ...!!!!!

Guest#582 Feb 16, 2014, 12:12
Quite right to do this, we should NOT be sending money abroad when this country is in turmoil and so many are worried about money. Charity begins at Home doesn't it?
Mr Cameron, stop giving our money away to foreign countries, look after your own, we aren't all rich you know!
Guest#583 Feb 16, 2014, 12:17
I live up in the north & have been very lucky so far with the bad weather,I really feel for those in the north, the south & the flat lands that have suffered so badly ,so I think that all the funding that is available should be sent to those poor people u& NOT sent to foreign parts,I was always told as a child the charity begins at home.
Guest#584 Feb 16, 2014, 12:19
Charity starts at home. We have given so much money to other countries and now we need to look after our own. We are not a wealthy empire any longer and to give away hard earned money to nations with space and nuclear programmes is so unfair when we find ourselves in great need of assistance. PLEASE look after us in our time of need.
Guest#585 Feb 16, 2014, 12:21
I think it is time the voice of common sense was heard by our"leaders", and they took on board what the majority of the British people feel.
Guest#586 Feb 16, 2014, 12:26
The money needed should be available from the aid funds, also apply to Europe for help in these circumstances - surely we are entitled?
Guest#587 Feb 16, 2014, 12:28

its time the prime minister realised that
its the people of this country that keep him in his job , not those in other countries around the world , its amazing how much posturing can be carried out by Rt Hon gentlemen when they fear for their jobs . perhaps Rt Hon is not a term to be used .  I completley agree that money paid in taxes within this country should be spent for the benefit of its citezens first  not fritted away on foreign aid so that the leaders of poor countries can become rich , we are always led to belive that charity begins at home and what better way to put it to the test . I expect though that like all promises that the prime minister has made in the past this promise of all money made available for the floods  will prove to be another fairy tale .

I strongly urge the Government to use some of the £11 billion spent on overseas aid to be put to help the suffering of our people in so many places here at home.
Guest#589 Feb 16, 2014, 12:29
NOW THE HORSE HAS BOLTED
Guest#590 Feb 16, 2014, 12:30
Please make it happen
Guest#591 Feb 16, 2014, 12:38
Foriegn aid is all well & good but help ourselves first & for the future British people
Guest#592 Feb 16, 2014, 12:51
I STRONGLY URGE THE GOVERMENT TO DIVERT SOME OF THE BILLIONS A YEAR SPENT ON FOREIGN AID TO BUILD & MAINTAIN THE UK FLOOD DEFENCES FOE EVER
Guest#593 Feb 16, 2014, 13:01
TIME TO SPEND MONEY AT HOME INSTEAD OF LOST CAUSES ABROAD
Guest#594 Feb 16, 2014, 13:05
It is beyond belief that a misguided Prime Minister really believes that sending £11 billion abroad is more important than helping thousands of hapless homeowners/taxpayers in this country .
Guest#595 Feb 16, 2014, 13:14
feel we owe more to the people in trouble in our country who have paid their taxes than to foreign country's who are quite capable of solving their own problems
Guest#596 Feb 16, 2014, 13:19
I'm now 76, and for my whole life from school, we have been sending money to these country's, and nothing has changed, we are still pumping money into same country's, and nothing has changed!! About time that money was used to help our own country out.
Guest#597 Feb 16, 2014, 13:44
An extremely worthwhile petition. Just hope the Government will will do it.
