gita contains wisdowm of life. only ignorant people would try to ban it. one of the hindu should make them aware of this wisdom. Automatically petition would be with drawn

It is patently ridiculous for the Russian court or Government to do this or even think about doing this to a science that explains nothing but the supreme truth.

Gita is a holy book and it has lot good practices. Why it should be banned??

Books can be banned but messages can never be erased from the hearts of pure devotees. ASURAS can not stop the holy teachings of KRSNA.

bhagwat gita is a secular religious book,which teaches spreading of love,affection,values of life,truth of life and the meaning of life.it has nothing against any one.so it should be respected

There is no such writing in Bhagwat Gita..

Russians being engrossed in materialism and preparing weapons are foolish enough not to understand the significance of Bhagavad gita.

Bhagvad Gita is a holy book, it does not teach any volience, it is wisdom passed on by Lord Shri Krishna to the world, to know oneself and also to know the true nature of oneself.

Moscow: A Russian court on Monday suspended its verdict till December 28 on the demand for banning Hindu scripture Bhagavad Gita, which a group linked to the Christian Orthodox Church has described as 'extremist'.

"The ruling has been postponed till December 28, as the lawyer of the local chapter of ISKCON requested the court to seek opinion of Russian ombudsman and experts from Moscow and St. Petersburg - the main centres of Indology in Russia", Sadhu Priya Das of ISKCON informed after the court in the Siberian city of Tomsk suspended its verdict.

Earlier, Russian ombudsman Vladimir Lukin in his statement had declared that "Bhagavad Gita As It Is" written by A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) is a globally respected book, and it was unacceptable to seek a ban on it in Russia.

Meanwhile, at their emergency meeting last night here Hindus from India, Bangladesh, Mauritius, Nepal and other countries residing in Russia set up the Hindu Council of Russia to defend their interests.

Das has been elected its chairman.

"We have trust in the Russian judiciary and finally the truth will prevail," Das said.

Ironically, Tomsk is the home to the Imperial Energy, the Siberian subsidiary of India's ONGC Videsh Ltd, which has invested million of dollars in the region.

Судиться с Бхагавад-Гитой просто глупо. Это нарушение прав человека, его права на свободу выбора, свободу религии, просто какой-то диктаторский режим! Последний раз в истории России это было в Советском Союзе. Да и вообще, зачем им это? Хотят показаться такими правильными? Очень мало людей это оценят. Или хотят прославиться, не важно, чем, хорошим или плохим? Или преследуют свои личные цели?

Gita is a wonderfull piece of wisdom ..free from any religious streeks ..

How could such a stupid petition bew entertained in the first place? It is amazing! It seems that the so called Judge is not fit for his job in the first place. He should have never entertained such a silly petition considering the sensitivities of the third largest most tolerant religion on the Earth. The Judge seems too naive if not vindictive to Hindus. Geeta and ISKON are not synonymous. ISKON is an organisation which is an isolated organisation like in Christianity where there are umpteen different sects practicing Christianity. It will be in the earnest order to respect the sensitivities of the Hindus all over the world. Come wake up Russia from your sleepy days of tyranical rule where you have been cut off from the humanity. Krishna the - God bless
