Help stop the plight of welsh ponies

Young horses should not be left to breed & I think most of the stallions & young colts depends on how many should be court up & gelled to stop over breeding x

it is so sad that it would cost me more to buy a cat than to buy a welsh pony due to over saturation of the market by breeder who are not being regulated and obviously young mares and under weight mares are being used year on year and kept in disgusting conditions. they are unvaccinated and un handled not even having there feet trimmed. there needs to be much more regulation and monitoring n these breeders

There's an old saying 'An eye for an eye' this should be observed by the judiciary when sentencing!

How disheartening. I thought surely that breeding practices would be more humane, if not more sophisticated, in Wales. This is sadly tragic.

We need to help the welsh ponys, they cannt suffer this way !

Please stop this appalling cruelty NOW so no more of these beautiful creatures have to suffer.

i cannot beleive this is happening in a country like GB we are meant to be a nation af animal lovers this cannot be allowed to go on its disgraceful and whoever is responsible should be taken to court to face the consequences of their actions

This is apalling & indisccriminate breeding should be stopped.

I think it's great when people are trying so hard to make a difference and I will always do my best to support them.

I have rescued numerous welsh ponies from suffering that have been amenciated near to death, its not fair and feels like a loosing battle when the people who do not care breed so irresponsibly without a single care for welfare. Please make this illegal to end suffering now!!!!

This over breeding by greedy selfish farmers has to stop, they should be brought to book for there cruelty and and couldn't care less attitude, the ponies sell for pennies and are of substandard conformation through inbreeding, this has to stop and now, this country is surpose to be a nation of animal lovers, what a bloody joke!!!!!

I think its disgusting how somebody could be so cruel. I live in wales and own a welsh pony, and 2 welsh cob crosses. The welsh pony we bought is perfect, but on the slim side. I would never imagine the situation is so bad. we were told by our farrier the meat man will not accept any more horses for a couple weeks as he is full <3

Cant belive that in 2011 ppl are still treating animals like this technoligy is advanced and unable 2 teach ppl how 2 manage the breeding of animals its is disgusting and needs 2 be stop and any1 caught doing this should be treated in the same way they hav treated there animals or other ppls animals we are supposed 2 be a caring society lets fight peacefully 4 the right of animals.. Absolutely horrified to hear of what's happening over in UK with Welsh ponies. Never realised it was so bad! Now I'm in Australia, it's actually quite hard to find Welsh ponies as they are so few in numbers, especially Welsh Sec Ds, because they are being bred carefully and all sold to good homes. And yet it is the opposite in UK. Hope that this petition makes something happen, I can't bear to think of any of God's creatures suffering unnecessarily.
