I am practicing Advocate in Bombay High Court, India. I completely agree that there should be freedom to each and every human being to choose his/her own religion and to read books which he/ she wants to read. We can never forget that freedom has always proved as the basis of development. Development is the basic nature of humans which separates humans from all other species. According to me there is absolutely no harm in allowing people to read a great book like "Bhagwat Geeta".

I am in favour of people of the world reading a great book like "BHAGWAT GEETA". According to me it is a great knowledgeable book and at no stretch of imagination can it harm any person in the world.

This action taken by the Russian government is a clear demonstration of the stupidity of the ruling classes,not just in Russia but throughout the world. I say this because if the international community had any sense they would speak out against this, but obviously they are too busy siphoning off taxpayers money rather than upholding our human rights, such as the freedom of speech and freedom of religion. Seeing as Russia is signatory to both the Universal Deceleration of Human Rights and the European Convention on Human Rights, shouldn't the government be protecting the rights of their citizens to practice whichever religion they choose. If they are able to give instances within the Bhaghavad gita or the practitioners of religion are inciting hatred then the government have the right and the duty to expose this, however if they are not the government should not waste their time causing needless aggravation and dividing society. There are plenty of people in Russia living in poverty, why don't the government do something to sort this out first ! With regards to the international community, I believe countries like the USA and UK would be the first to pipe up if it were a 3rd world islamic nation who was taking this course of action, however due to Russia's strategic political position as one of  the permanent members of the UN security council and NATO, etc the international community have been somewhat slow if not silent on this clear violation of all international human rights codes.

Bhagavad Gita As it Is is recognized by many PHD University Teachers,Profesors to be authentic book of India wisdom,philosophy,Theology,culture etc.It is part of the Mahabharata great and oldest book on this planet.
To claim that it is extremist book is great crime and great offence for people of India as well as for any educated man on this planet.All involved in this crime should be themselves be prossecuted in court,up to Strasbour if there are no justice in Russia.

Wake up Russian justice,don t alow such envious people to make whole world think that Russians are so gross and uneducated.It will bring great shame on your country.What to speak of how Indian Goverment and people will think about you?

people who were argue with Gita, they didn't read the Gita fully. What i am suggesting them is to read Gita fully later they can comment on it.
