North Coates Flying Club

Ex RAF North Coates serving member. We have a little history that needs preserving.

I have flown into here for a number of years now and think it is an asset to the local community.

It is one of the few. A great little Airfield for free flers of the UK. Very well run by Chris gurney. I will fly in there as soon as I get my next Aeroplane. Thanks for all your good work CHRIS. JB.VR. ATA.

We are losing too many small airfields. I gather that there are alternative places that the wind turbines can be placed without affecting this flying club. So I see no reason for causing problems for the club and possibly forcing it to close.

Am for keeping the airfield serviceable and the club as an going concern.

 As a former resident of RAF North Cotes, 85 Squadron and a frequent return visitor to the area, I have to question why anybody would consider blighting this landscape with yet another wind farm. With so many other wind farms being built of shore why does this one need to be built onshore where it would obscure the view?

I would like to keep the flying club open and safe. The wind farm could be built anywhere else along the coast, don't pick somewhere where it will affect businesses and leisure groups. This airfield houses an important museum which may also have to close should this development go ahead.

I am ex-airforce, Lincolnshire born, and would like to see the historic airfield used as intended.

There are many other sites readily available for such a development. It will benefit a few hugely, it will penalise many significantly.

Why should a wind farm be allowed to affect an active airfield, especially such an historic one. Build the wind farm elsewhere, or better still, don't build it at all - it's not needed!

Windmills are an inefficient and expensive for of energy creation and the North Coates airfield is an important and historic part of Uk's aviation activity

It is important to safeguard active airfields as there are so many threatened by housing developments or so-called green energy.

I flew into the airfield this weekend and it's was brilliant, and wind farms are a complete waste of money and a eye saw

Airfields are a vanishing resource that are constantly being hemmed on by development. we have a great history of general aviation in this country that supports many jobs and should be preserved

I have been to North Coates many times and feel the Airfiled should be allowed to flourish.

Keep airfields open for aircraft. We don't need any more wind farms generating overpriced electricity when it's not required.

My father, W/C C S Cooper, a torpedo man, 254 Squadron, flew from North Coates and was shot down leading a strike against enemy shipping on 25 Sept 1943. I would like the airfield to remain operational.

I do not wish to see yet another up and running airfield trumped by such a venture. Catch the very same wind elsewhere.

Operators of wind power generation projects should not be able to obtain planning permissions that adversely affect existing airfield operations.

To save yet another airfield from closure

There are too few airfields. If an airman is required to land due to unforeseen circumstances it is obviously beneficial if there is a suitable airfield nearby.
The old wartime airfields are often some of our best preserved reminders of the way life was and when they,re gone they're GONE.

The company should use the alternative sites available to them and not impose themselves on a legitimate aviation facility in such a dangerous manner
