This is not an unused or abandoned airfield, it has a lot of history behind it & loved by locals & people from further away. Events are held here regularly. It should be the not so Smart Wind company that should move their location & not see the demise of one of the country's oldest airfields.

we live in grainthorpe and we look over to a wind farm fed up of companys taking away our airfields and countryside.

We live close to the airfield and love watching the variety of planes that take off and land in North Cotes. It would be such a shame to see it forced to close.

I fully support petitions where our airspace could be affected. We are losing airspace all too often and i feel a need to look after what we have while we can.

It will be catastrophic to lose this airfield not only do we love the planes and the opendays but my husband takes the children every week end to the cafe for ice cream it is a major part of our little community.

North Coates Flying Club
North Coates Flying Club not only has it's place in History, but also both in the Present day and the Future.
Apart from the obvious necessity of the safety aspect for the taking off and landing of the planes, it is a place where both young and old can enjoy their love of aviation and the outdoors. Older persons can share with their children and grandchildren their knowledge and memories of such a special place, and importantly, spend family time together.
Wise up "Smart Wind" there has to be alternatives to this location !!!!!

Please reconsider the location of this windfarm - North Coates is a thriving airfield attracting visitors from across the country to the region - so why threaten its existence by locating a wind farm so close to this public amenity. The people using this airfield are not the privileged few affluent flyers, but instead ordinary peole in microlights who spend their limited spare cash to do what they love - fly.

Wind farms on land previously used as airfields is a waste of a good economic asset for the community.Airfields give source of employment and excellent potential for future growth.

Why do they have to keep picking on our airfields, if it's not windfarms it's affordable housing for our unwanted imports ,,,,, all the land in Lincolnshire but they have to go in line with a runway, sounds like some pathetic little S£!T doesn't like aircraft

A great community facility will be lost from this area if North Coates Airfield is forced to close.

North Coates airfield should not be abused in this way - it has a history which would be lost forever and has a unique flying museum, as well as being a home for local fliers and offering a welcome to visiting pilots, of which I am one. Surely there are better alternatives for such proposals in the area?

I find it strange, how local councils pick on airfields as targets for development, its our history our heritage, why not develop a golf course into housing ? answer councillors plat golf

The true efficiency of wind farms, as predicted by many, is now becoming evident. Their efficiency is about half that predicted and the only reason they are being built is because the operators can get subsidies that make it worthwhile and profit making. The windmill maintenance costs are also much higher than predicted further making them un uneconomic proposition for the consumer - us! We need to ask why are the Danes (who lead the field in windmills) have stopped building windmills?

Northcoates is almost alone in providing a landing facility in this corner of England, it has featured in the Grimsby Evening Telegraph and if forced to close, an interesting feature in this lonely spot will be lost.
