I have friends who are natural lightweight. Natural lightweights should be able to compete against each other.
Guest#152 Oct 25, 2016, 06:27
Lightweight Rowing a different kind of sport
Guest#153 Oct 25, 2016, 08:58
Because it makes no sense to exclude lightweight rowing from the olympics!
Guest#154 Oct 25, 2016, 09:13
it is absolutely unfair to all light weight rowers around the world,
FISA base on what any reason to make this wrongly decision?
Or they think that only open races are worth to be existed and participated by heavy weight rower? But whatever any reasons FISA needs to make an explanation clearly and in detail to all light weight rowers who are very angry and annoy now!

I think, it's the wrong way to cancel lightweight rowing. It shows great competition due to physical eaqualtiy of the athletes and it gives a lot of more countries the oportunity to take part in intenational competions.
Guest#156 Oct 25, 2016, 09:21
Because I believe in lightweight rowing having a major contribution to not only increasing the participation base but also the quality of rowing.

Light weight rowing is my favourite sport.
It also gives the possibility for people of smaller bodies to participate in rowing, and this also includes African and Asian nations.
Guest#158 Oct 25, 2016, 12:34
1.Rowing has to be a sport that covers all sizes. Nations who are naturally smallter will automatically be excluded -
2. many other sports have multiple weight categories - rowing only has 2.
3.Lightweight rowing often provides the closets racing
4. We do have get gender equality in our sport .
5. Programme is spelt this way !
Guest#159 Oct 25, 2016, 13:11
I'm a light weight rower myself and i think its good to have an weightclass to get more people interested and involved into rowing.
Guest#160 Oct 25, 2016, 16:20
Are they crazy or just dumb?
Why man#161 Oct 25, 2016, 17:23

Why

Why is iit that FISA and especially the IOC see the lightweight rowing as a second rank event

Guest#162 Oct 25, 2016, 17:32
Because I love rowing, and specially like to see the lightweights.
Guest#163 Oct 25, 2016, 21:28
They have to stay!!
Guest#164 Oct 25, 2016, 21:40
The sport need more rowers not less & lightweight rowers are some of the best to inspire others.

Guest#165 Oct 25, 2016, 23:55

We have lightweight rowers in the club that are considering giving the sport of rowing away and taking up cycling because of the proposed changes.

Guest#166 Oct 26, 2016, 01:21
Lightweight rowing is an incredible competitive discipline which is performed of all kind of people people across the world.
Guest#167 Oct 26, 2016, 01:49
As a former lightweight representative I do not want to see this category die. Their is limited opportunity for lightweights tower to row at an international standard and to dissolve this category will be a disgrace and show nothing but contempt by FISA an it's associates as well as being discriminatory against lightweight rowers. Deeming them not rowers or worthy a place at the table.
Guest#168 Oct 26, 2016, 10:45
my son has been involved in lightweight rowing for many years. It is actually discriminatory to not have it as not every rower is a heavy weight. It gives access to many more rowers in this wonderful sport.
Guest#169 Oct 26, 2016, 12:49
My teenage daughter is a passionate and dedicated rower who is devoting countless hours and is having tremendous success with this sport..she is a lightweight rower. Please show support for our lightweights too.
Guest#170 Oct 26, 2016, 15:08
Lightweight rowing is a must for the Olympic Games
Guest#171 Oct 26, 2016, 17:13
Because it is a residential area with kids and animals
Guest#172 Oct 26, 2016, 18:35
Lightweights can never be competitive in a sport dominated by tall, heavy rowers. The separate category enables those of a smaller stature to compete at the highest levels. It's a common situation in many sports.
Guest#173 Oct 26, 2016, 19:09
Preserving Lightweight rowing as part of Olympic programme because it is the way having much more countries involved in the games. LW-rowing has been the way for many countries to compeed during their limited height and weight. Therefore DFfR must fight very hard to preserve.
Guest#174 Oct 26, 2016, 20:22
Because rowing should stay on ol forever and ever!!! Denmark have so many strong great rower's every time..
