Because I consider Lukacs one of the most eminent philosophers of the 20th century
Guest#102 Mar 15, 2016, 19:09
losing this kind of valuable access to one of the worlds most influential Marxist thinkers would be a lose to both the working class as well the world in general
Guest#103 Mar 15, 2016, 21:58
I think Lucás is a great and original hungarian thinker.

Biscotte mon intuition masculine, qui doit être probablement populiste et antisémite, me laisse malgré tout à penser que Maximilien Robespierre a bel et bien existé.

G. Lukács supported also philosophers who did not share his philosophical standpoints ("dissident" members of "Budapest School"). I am interested in the ethical work of Agnes Heller; she highly appreciates the impuls of Lukács´s philosophy, despite of the fact, that she has - within the framework of her own philosophical development - abandoned the original marxist philosophical position (see Heller: Der Affe auf dem Fahrrad).

Because it would be a scandal to close down the Lukács archive.
Guest#109 Mar 16, 2016, 11:50

Destroying archives does not help contemporary societies to understand the past (their history) and avoid the repetition of their ancestors' mistakes.

Guest#110 Mar 16, 2016, 15:00
The proposed closing of the archive is, at best, narrow-minded, and at worst - sinister; what possible purpose could there be in so doing, unless to intimidate? Anyone who cares about freedom of thought, and anyone who considers her/himself to be an academic dedicated to the propagation and crtitique of ideas, should oppose this.

G.Lukacs is one of the greatest thinkers of 20th century with original contribution.
Work of such intellectuals need to be celebrated with more access to people.

Closing archives of such a towering intellectual is an assault on world of ideas.
Guest#112 Mar 16, 2016, 15:08
The importance of the intellectual heritage his archive represents
Guest#113 Mar 16, 2016, 16:18
Because I believe in the utmost importance of keeping the archive open
Guest#114 Mar 16, 2016, 21:37
As a retired librarian, I support the maintenance of all archives. Lukacs was a very important figure in the history of 20th century European thought.

Lukacs is, of course, the most famous Hungarian philosopher of the 20th century. His archive belongs to the Hungarian cultural heritage. In addition, it is important for research on the philosopher and his influential school
Guest#119 Mar 18, 2016, 09:57
I have used the work of Georg Lukács since I was a young graduate student - work that is as relevant to medieval and early modern literary studies as to philosophy and social theory, regardless of one's political affiliations. Do not close the archive.
Guest#120 Mar 18, 2016, 10:58
because I agree!
Guest#121 Mar 18, 2016, 17:12
Memory of all kinds should be preserved.

I am one of Lukacs translator in Persian and without Lukacs, the history of Marxist thought was completely different. His archiv should not be closed.
Guest#124 Mar 19, 2016, 15:16
