It is just common sense to have an A & E in Portlaoise. Dublin and Tullamore are too far away in an emergency, especially with traffic nowadays. Why can't the people of Laois and surrounding areas have the same entitlement as the people in Dublin and other cities? We pay the same taxes.

It's important that A&E remain in Portlaoise with emergency services taking quite a bit of time to get to an emergency scene, having to travel to a further away A&E is ridiculous.

It is absolutely disgraceful to close Portlaoise A&E and it only open a few years. Charlie Flanagan should be ashamed of himself that he hasnt done one thing for his county since becoming a T.D. never mind being elected a Minister. He's only out to line his own pockets and I hope whoever voted for him suffer the consequences of his actions

I have used the services of A&E regularly over the last 17years and I hate to think of what could have happened had it not been so close to me. We absolutely need Portlaoise A&E to remain open.

It is the closest A&E and hospital to me 20minutes, for that to close would be devastating in a life & death situation.
