Please don't give up so soon

As a yachtsman with more than fifty years experience, I think it is disgraceful that the search has been prematurely curtailed. The crew could well be alive within the upturned hull - or on a life raft.

I would prefer to have such a mishap in the extremely hostile Southern Ocean, knowing that the caring and competent Aussies would come to my rescue.

US Coast Guard: your motto Semper Paratus, means Always Ready. Ready won't do when people need help. What if our sailors needed help off the coast "over there?" How about that old Golden Rule, US Coast Guard?

After two months of searching for the Malaysian flight gone missing, I think we deserve a great deal more effort to find these missing sailors. As an off shore sailor myself, I'm sure these guys are floating out there, we just need the commitment to go find them. Please don't give up on them.

All lives are so valuable, more so to relatives and friends.

Hope these men r found so their families can lay them to rest

If the search was called off purely because of lack of resources then collectively
We must find the resources. There are some amazing stories of less fitter people surviving these sorts of conditions. Perhaps a film company will support the costs as their survival story will make a block buster. They are still out there. You can just lies a life raft! They don't sink!

We cannot believe that these four men have been abandoned after such a short period of time since the accident, especially when experts have said that they could still be alive in the upturned hull.
If they have taken to the life raft, again, experts say they can survive for up to a month in one of these. This seems very callous not to do anything.

What is good God speed

I wonder if the US coastguard etc would take a different attitude if it was the presidents family missing. I hope these sailors are safe and that very soon they are all found safe and well. Thoughts to the families.

Guest#40 May 20, 2014, 09:50
Please don't stop searching so quickly they are waiting for someone to rescue them .
Guest#41 May 20, 2014, 12:12
Come on USA you are the country I thought you were if you do t restart the looking right now. Search for another five days, surely four lives are worth one day a search each and one extra for the pissing around and wasted time for stopping the search too soon. Please.
Guest#42 May 20, 2014, 12:13
Get out there and look please.
Guest#43 May 20, 2014, 12:15

Don't give up on our fellas
Guest#47 May 20, 2014, 13:37
Experienced sailors, as these four are, would have prepared themselves to abandon ship into their more than adequate liferaft and are probably expecting to be rescued any day. How can the US Coastguards give up after just two days? With such a huge area of ocean to cover, not enough time has been devoted to finding them. Remember Mr Bullimore? Come on US, help us out here.
