Protect Stroud Farmer's Market

It is so important to support our local producers. They are a valuable part of our community and we need to show then we value them are and prepared to stand up for them. Thank you giving me the opportunity to show I care.

The Farmer's Market is the jewel in the crown for Stroud. Don't let it be destroyed by tendering it out.

as a farmer's daughter & gardener I feel the farmer's market reflects my ethos and that of Stroud eminently. The character of the market and its appeal to visitors from far and wide bring a beating heart to Stroud and the town centre's economy. What ever the future holds it must include that. The benefit to Stroud rate-payers is not calculable in monetary terms, but is probably greater than that.

This needs to be properly sorted out!

People like me have been travelling to Stroud market for years. It works brilliantly the way it is, please don't change anything.

Having witnessed the demise of other markets because of the contract going out to tender I wholeheartedly agree that it should remain in local hands as in the best interests of the local people be they residents or other traders enjoying the benefits brought to the general marketplace by the increased footfall

Stroud Farmers' Market, run the way it is run, has proved a winning formula benefiting Stroud and the surrounding area. SDC are taking a very high-handed attitude which is highly unlikely to be of benefit to the many stall-holders involved or us, their customers. Leave well alone.

Stop cutting back on ordinary people. There is still plenty of fat to be trimmed at executive level.

I agree we should keep the Stroud Market safe, but we should tackle the real problem, which is for all Public Services, started under the Tori Party , putting every thing out to Tender.
Wasting, millions of Pounds and making a few people very rich at the expense of the very poor.

Stroud Farmer's Market is a treasure!

The Stroud Farmers Market is a must for Stroud and must be allowed to continue. Apart from bringing people into the town, it is a real special occasion to visit - reminds me of the atmosphere of a market on the continent! Keep it local and special.

Keep it for Gerb who has run it so well. No to SDC putting it out to tender which could affect the quality and make it less successful. Stroud's greatest asset.

The Market should be for local produce by local farmers and traders only. Surely the name says it all STROUD FARMER'S MARKET.

Stroud farmer's market is a wonderful institution selling a large variety of quality foods, plants and cosmetics and is very much a part of Stroud life in a rather wonderful setting. Why get rid of it?

The Market is part of the community, the local council is and works for the people. What is the problem? Both provide services for the community at large, therefore, both must support each other.

Stroud farmers market is a wonderful event , promoting quality local food and a platform for future initiatives. It is also a valuable social forum.

The market is running extremely well and has been nationally acclaimed as an outstanding success.
It would appear the motive for change derives from greed!

Stroud Farmers market should not and cannot be changed. Leave it to continue and prosper

the farmers market should be left as it is and no meddling by the council . who seem to enjoy messing things up big time.
HANDS OFF OUR MARKET

This Market is an essential service to Stroud, bringing many people into the town.

Stroud Farmers Market was set up for the benefit of the people of Stroud by the people of Stroud. It is not a "product" that can be bought or sold. It needs management certainly but unless there is anything wrong with the current management why should there be any change? The original and current management have built up a history of expertise. Any new management would have to start from scratch.
Attempting to put the management of the market up for tender just shows how out of touch Stroud District Council is.
