Alert ! French conservators-restorers are in danger !

The petition you have signed to support the French conservators-restorers of Cultural Heritage has reached over 5000 signatures! Amongst them many conservators (approximately 900 which is more than half the professionals registered in France), leading cultural, artistic and intellectual personalities throughout France and the world as well as international institutions (ECCO, International Institute of Conservation- IIC, French comity of ICOM, American Institute for Conservation – AIC…).
 
The FFCR (French Federation of Professionals for Conservation-Restoration) has sent this very petition to Mr. François Hollande, President of the Republic, Mr. Manuel Valls, Prime Minister, and Mrs Audrey Azoulay, Minister of Culture, requesting a meeting with each of them. Mr. Valls’ Cultural Advisor has answered favorably and will receive several FFCR representatives on the week of April 11th to discuss what should be done about the problems pinpointed by the petition.
 
We will keep you informed of the outcome of this meeting.
