Awaiting also a response to the letter from Mayor George V. Harvie to Premier David Eby, requesting "that the Province reconsider the use of aerial spraying in future years and work to enhance engagement with affected communities."
This petition will remain open until we see a reform of the program to use alternative safer alteratives to aerial spraying over urban neighbourhoods. In the meantime, continue to raise awareness and encourage others to sign the petition.

May 11, 2026 City of Delta's Regular Council Meeting
2026-05-14 21:07:40On May 11, 2026, Mayor Harvie brought forward a Motion on Notice concerning Aerial Spraying in Beach Grove. It was carried unanimously that:
1. Council send a letter to Premier David Eby requesting that the Province provide better community consultation, and
2. Request that the Province explore alternative methods of pest control that do not involve aerial spraying over residential areas.

April 22, 2026 Petition Presented in the BC Legislature
2026-05-01 04:04:10Ian Paton, MLA Delta South, presented the petition on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 in the house and it was submitted to the Legislature for official petition purposes. Awaiting a response from the BC Province.
The first spray in Squamish was completed May 1, 2026, and the first spray in Delta was completed May 4, 2026. People may continue to sign this petition. it will not be closed until the 2026 program's remainining sprays are cancelled, and/or the program is permanently reformed to use alternate safer methods.
