Australia’s Natural Science Community Supports A/Prof Jochen Kaempf #SaveOceanography #JochenKaempf

The aim of this petition is to gain the support by Australia's most eminent experts in the natural sciences to prevent the proposed redundancy of A/Prof Jochen Kaempf, Flinders University, one of Australia's foremost oceanographers. It's the quality not quantity of the responses that matter here. Support Letter for A/Prof Jochen Kaempf 

I believe that A/Prof Kaempf’s expertise and knowledge in oceanography and plankton science are pivotal to address South Australia’s toxic algal bloom crisis.

He is so far the only expert who uses the scientific method to simulate the algal bloom spreading with computer models. He also has a wealth of knowledge about the physics of South Australia’s inverse estuaries, Gulf St. Vincent and Spencer Gulf, and the upwelling ecosystems systems on the adjacent continental shelf.

His proposed redundancy would be an unjustifiable and regrettable loss to the natural science community and scientific excellence in Australia, particularly in times of natural disasters like the algal bloom. We call Flinders University to reverse their proposal.
