Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) among Sri lankan Farmers
Many farmers and fishermen in Sri Lanka have died due to CKD. Past governments have not properly investigated the cause and provided a solution. Due to this reason many farmers and fishermen are dying in Sri Lanka at an alarming rate.
The main culprits for the disease are suspected to be agrochemical use and groundwater contamination. But so far no definitive cause has been found. We here demand the Government of Sri Lanka or any other agency to step in and find a solution to this problem that affects the poorest of the poor in Sri Lanka.
