Community Petition - Plot 105, Ravenswood Road and Surrounding Areas in Boksburg

We, the undersigned residents and property owners of Ravenswood, Boksburg, wish to formally raise our concerns regarding the unlawful occupation of Plot 105, Cnr. 13th Avenue & Ravenswood Road.

Over time, this occupation has resulted in several issues that are negatively affecting the surrounding community, including but not limited to:

• Disturbance of peace: ongoing noise and disruptive behaviour.

• Unsanitary conditions: waste accumulation and lack of proper sanitation.

• Environmental and health risks: burning rubble, fires for food and heat, and pollution.

• Safety concerns: risks to nearby businesses, families, and children.

• Decline in property values within the neighbourhood.

• Substantial deterioration of the area.

In addition, residents are facing ongoing vagrancy issues along Ravenswood Road, where individuals are making fires, setting up camps, and littering. This further compounds the risks to health, safety, and the environment.

We respectfully request that the relevant authorities:

1. Investigate the situation at the above-mentioned property.

2. Assess the health, safety, and sanitation risks associated with the current occupation.

3. Take the necessary lawful steps in accordance with South African legislation to address the situation.

4. Restore safety, hygiene, and order in the community.

We understand that all actions must comply with the law and respect the rights of all individuals. However, we believe the current situation requires urgent attention for the wellbeing of the broader community, beyond Ravenswood, which includes Anderbolt, Beyers Park, and the surrounding areas.

We kindly request feedback within 60 days from the date of submission of this petition on the steps that will be taken to resolve this matter
