Save Nu107 FM's rock music-oriented programming format!!!

#22: - NU107 THE NO1 ROCK STATION IN THE WHOLE WORLD!!!

i would like to borrow the title of new order's album "power corruption and lies"

POWER - the power of money, influence and intimidation by means of temporary suspension from airing songs that are detrimental to their interests...

CORRUPTION - concealing what is the truth about rock music, especially the popular misconception sowed by "so called holy guys and gals" that all forms of rock music like punk rock, alternative, blues rock and rockibilly are from the devil.

LIES -  sugarcoated tri-media (radio, print, internet etc)

as a teenager back in 1995-96, only 2 radio stations caught my ear and "religiously" listens to them... theses are NU107 and the now defunct LA105.9.over the years i enjoyed their music, promo gigs and their djs (i cannot mention them because there are too many to count) among them are the ghost, the doctor and dj carlos (of LA 105.9) and myrene academia, jaedee, trish, pontry, francis brew, and even the late great FRANCIS MAGALONA (of NU107)

these two stations catered to the needs of the rock-crazed teenagers and the 20-ish (maybe 30-ish) crowd at the time and even until today. musical genres offered are new wave, punk rock, post-punk, alternative ,grunge and industrial rock (those of orgy, rammstein and nine inch nails)

years before the turn of the millenium, LA105.9 ceased operations and many of their listeners are shocked upon the management's action. as LA105.9 disappears from the radio scene , so does the legendary CLUB DREDD which housed some of pinoy alternative greats such as the teeth, the youth, the breed etc

and a few years later (which is today) there are news of NU107 finally saying goodbye to its loyal listeners through the years. what things resident to NU107 which the rockistas loved are their annual events such as the NU ROCK AWARDS and the YEAREND COUNTDOWN every new year's eve.

many are shocked and some are even vented their ire towards the move of managemental change. there are also news that NU107 would suffer the same fate as campus radio 97.1 (which later turned into barangay LS 97.1), love radio 90.7 (formerly called DZMB) and 103.5 max FM. in other words NU107 would be turned into a "masa-oriented" radio station. the jejemon agents finally succeeded in their evil quest for mind conditioning and sugarcoating the music industry.

would you accept the fact that an institution like NU107 would die an "unnatural death" and only to be reborn as a JEJEMON radio station who plays "baby baby baby ooooooohhhh" every single day of your life here on earth? justin beiber will make your ears bleed and eventually you will die due to loss of precious blood.

again, would you accept that every morning you will hear songs that are so monotonous to hear and full of lewd jokes that are hosted by gay DJs all for the love of money and no one else?

to all true blue rockistas,

if you really love the truth and detest all kinds of evil entertainment, please save NU107 and also save ourselves too. dont let this happen to an institution we truly loved for many years....

there is no need to change the image or format of NU. i doubt it also if the main reason is financial issues. the company simply wants a higher revenue. there are a lot of ways to earn more revenue instead of changing their image. this is obviously a gamble decision on the part of NU's mgmt.

for NU's mgmt: sir/ma'am, you might not get what you're hoping for, this move might go the other way around. sanay na po mga tao on where to tune in every time they wanna hear love music and same goes to us (rock music fans) sanay narin po kme where to tune in to listen to real music. sir/ma'am, think about this. numbers may not be the same in terms of people listening to other genre against as rock music fans but honestly, as long as there are rock concerts and proper advertising, revenues definitely should and will follow. i dont think rock is dead in our country. thanks and more power to this station.
