Save the NICE BUS routes!!!
Where I live in East Meadow, the N46 & N50 to Bellmore are my ONLY realistic options for my commute to Queens EVERY DAY!! I realize these lines don't carry many people but We DEPEND ON THESE LINES!! PLEASE SAVE THEM!! I can only speak for my situation, but without these routes, I will become unemployed!
Please note that their plan also includes termination of the N73/N74 which will basically leave all of Levittown without service. Most of the riders are commuters who use this route to reach LIRR connections please help maintain this service.
Save these bus lines. Lines such as the 81 and 14 are needed by people to get to work. Working families will suffer when affordable child care evaporates.
Re:
We would like to keep using N80, N81. Many families need the bus. So please let us go to work, we need to go to the Sunrise Mall, or to Ikea, to ballet classes, to church, etc.
scoot service
The fact that this is cutting all North South lines east of freeport is unexcepptalbe. (Except for the N62) Which would add commute time on none cut line at max 3 Hours
Suggestions:
Back in the 90;s the mta used duel able ride/public bus mini busses on the N73/74.
Instead of cutting reroute service on low service lines useing this system since it would provide a duel roll with exsisting busses.
Combine N36 and The N62 by rerouting the N36 over the south of Atlantic part of the N62.
If the N17 is cut extend N16 service through Molloy to Mercy and back again.
Make routes on demand busses where people have to reserve a ride using the able ride system where routes are cut. Using exsisting busses
Use Able Ride funnel routes instead off door to door provide service to the Nearest Public Bus Route. If long hall route use differnet able ride bus as close to destination as possible. Which would lower cost for that service
Re:
yep your right that;s why i fled to the city Nassau is a car county unfortunally
Bring back the N73/74 bus lines!!!
Please bring back the N46/N50 so my friend can feed her family and pay her rent.
The N80 is the only means of transportation in the area other than expensive taxis. It's how I get to the railroad, grocery, pharmacy, bank, post office, town hall, etc. It's the only way to connect with other bus routes on Hempstead Tpke, Jerusalem Ave, or Sunrise Hwy. NICE Bus took over promising to keep all routes, knowing some were not money-makers - that promise didn't last long. And they never tried smaller buses, less frequent buses, or anything else that might have eased the losses. They just dropped us as soon as they could. And if the buses had been more reliable, maybe more people would have used them. Schedules can't be exact, but buses passing stops 20 minutes earlier than scheduled and drivers passing right by stops with people waiting is not the way to encourage ridership.
Nassau county can do better than cut poor hard working families from taking the bus to work. These Cuts are to extreme!
Cutting the whole line is a bad decision Why not cut buses non-peek hours. Peek hours the buses are full of riders.
Please Ed Mangano Restore the N46 N50 during peek hours. Send vans anything to keep people working!
