Britain always sends money to countries where a natural disaster happened. Now is our turn. Nobody sends us money, we need to look after ourselves.

These homeowners and businesses need the Country's support and for once charity should begin at home.

I don't wonder the Scott's are thinking about leaving the UK. Scotland helped the UK become the global power that it was. Now what do they see. England being led by the most pathetic Conservative government that we have ever seen. Political correct left leaning public bodies wrecking the country before our eyes. Stand back and take a look at what the rest of us see Mr Cameron, a country reduced to a snivelling pathetic mess and worse of all, put in this position by the Tory's

If the conservatives want to win in 2015 they need to condider this petition very carefully especially after their tardiness in responding to the floods.

Charity begins at home. We should not give money to wealthy countries who misuse it

to much money sent abroad when it is needed here I have been saying this for many years

It is bonkers and slap in the face to all the people affected by the flooding, while we send millions to wealthy countries for petty and unnecessary projects. Let's look after our own first at this time and worry about others when we are able to do so.

We should be helping our own before we send help abroad.

I said in 1976 drought when the rivers were dry they should have been digging out the spoil and building up the banks while it was still dry.
The "Greens" said no, look at the pretty flowers that you would destroy.
The same happen in 1984.

In this Country we are always quick to help others in far away places, but we never stop to
think about helping ourselves. I have not seen any other Country trying to help us. So we must look after those poor soles with nothing left, but bills, to repair the damage.

Charity should begin at home! We are not wealthy at this time, or the cut backs here and there with various organisations would not let various things happen no dredging etc.

Please please help these people who have lost homes business .we give to much else where time to look after our own.

will ignore this petition. They seem to be more interested in spending our money in countries which do not need it. Charity begins at home!

We as a country should only give assistace not money

Well done Daily Mail, always happy to support a very good cause.

People will need help for months to get their homes dried out and possessions replaced.

I agree charity belongs at home - countries such as china and india should not need Englands help. Our people in the flooded areas do - not to mention our ailing NHS.

p lease mr Cameron look after our own people first then if there is any money left send it abroad to help those unfortunate but please lets look after our own first.
