youth in trouble - help me!!!

I agree that parents should have more authority to intervene in the health of their child. Young people are not allowed to buy alcohol, cigarettes or gamble before the age of 19 in Ontario. And yet the law allows them to have sex at age 12 and to make decisions about their mental and physical health long before they have the maturity to do so responsibly. Under the present system it is very difficult for parents to help their troubled teen or pre-teen child.

I feel this is so important, Parents and the facility were these troubled youth are placed should be the ones to decide if these young people should leave rehab. To let them decide for themselves is completely irresponsible. The Government needs to amend these laws so that the Parents with the help of experts in the specific field can be the primary decision makers
