The case against a serial child molester in Malmesbury continued in November 2025. First arrested in 2021 for child molestation, the accused was released on a warning. He has admitted to struggling with urges to harm children, yet mental health evaluations contradict claims that he cannot control himself. He is a dangerous predator who must never be allowed near children again. The case was heard in the Malmesbury Regional Court on 7 November for plea negotiations. The matter has been postponed to 26 January 2026 for judgement.
In a country scourged by violent crime and Gender-base violence the courts are inundated with rape trials. This country has one of the highest rates of Gender-base violence thus leaves the victims with psychological trauma. Rape leaves a lasting impact of trauma on the brain and body. Sinethemba as an Community base organization urged the court to not be so lenient and to impose more harsher sentences.
To sign this petition is an effort to curb the ubiquity of GBV and to give expression to society condemnation of the crime of rape and to deter prospective criminals.
The accused was found guilty and and was supposed to be sentenced on Monday, 26 January 2026 but it has been postponed to 17 March 2026.
