PRIORITISE POST MATRICULANTS

THE YOUTH OF SOUTH AFRICA DESERVE TO UTILISE THEIR RIGHT TOWARDS EDUCATION.

As Post Matriculants taking an unplanned gap year we have come together to take a stand to voice out our frustrations for all 850000 matriculates and only a selected number of individuals can be granted admission to further their education. Our future, our education, our goals are at standstill because universities can't accommodate the growing number of South African Learners. We need more universities in the country to cater for all matriculants. We cannot fight for education that will put us a step closer towards employment and are also expected to fight for employment for jobs we have no experience in nor do we have qualifications for.

We are not just "taking a joy ride" as the minister of higher education stated but rather suffering in silence and disappointed once again as to how our South African government continues to fail not only the youth of South Africa but rather the whole of South Africa. Nobody understands the mental strain a unplanned gap year has on person but those in a gap year or a similar situation yet it is taken lightly, we are constantly invalidated. This is not the South Africa what our grandmothers and grandfathers fought for, this is not what they lost their lives for. Our country is shambles and nothing will change unless we fight for change.
