Subject: Urgent Request to Address Noise Pollution from Pune Metro at Kalyani Nagar Station

Dear Sir/Madam,

We, the undersigned residents of Kalyani Nagar and neighboring areas, write to express our deep concern regarding the persistent noise pollution caused by the Pune Metro operations near the Kalyani Nagar Metro Station. The screeching noise from the trains, occurring every 7 minutes from 6 AM to 11 PM, has severely impacted our quality of life, particularly for residents of Lunkad Sky Lounge, Fortaleza, and nearby societies.

The high decibel levels of the metro operations have led to:

•Sleep disturbances: Residents, including children and the elderly, are unable to rest due to the continuous noise.

•Reduced livability: Our homes, meant to be peaceful sanctuaries, have become unbearable due to the incessant screeching.

We understand the importance of public transport and appreciate the infrastructure improvements brought by the Pune Metro. However, it is crucial that these advancements do not come at the cost of residents’ well-being.

We respectfully request the following measures to be taken immediately:

1.Implementation of noise mitigation systems: Install sound barriers or other technologies to reduce the noise levels near residential areas.

2.Maintenance adjustments: Regularly inspect and maintain tracks to minimize screeching sounds.

We trust that Pune Metro Rail will prioritize the concerns of its citizens and take prompt action to resolve this pressing issue. Kindly acknowledge receipt of this petition and provide a timeline for implementing solutions.
