We, the undersigned members of the Daughters of the American Revolution, support the National Society, its mission, and its established processes for governing membership and resolving disagreements.
We oppose the grievance being circulated against the President General, Executive Committee, and National Board of Management. Members have the right to raise questions and propose changes through DAR’s governing procedures. We do not believe this grievance speaks for all members, and we reject the suggestion that a chapter must become a “Resolute Chapter” to make its members’ views heard.
DAR’s work in historic preservation, education, and patriotism deserves our time and resources. Prolonged public conflict diverts attention from that work and harms relationships among members. Every DAR member deserves to participate without harassment, humiliation, or attacks on her privacy.
We ask National leadership to continue governing through the bylaws, communicate clearly with members, and protect the Society’s ability to carry out its mission. We also ask our fellow members to address disagreements through DAR’s established processes while treating one another with dignity.
