How on earth could the government be looking to allow people with no medical experience to mutilate a dog like this.  Barry's post below says it is currently illegal. Am I to believe that they are trying to make this legal.  This must not happen

The Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013 needs drastic revision. Tail docking and dew claw removal are delicate and painful procedures which should only be undertaken by a vet under suitable anaesthesia.

Tail docking and de-clawing for 'cosmetic' reasons is Barbaric and utterly unnecessary!! - The fact that in most castes it is carried out by AMATEURS should be ILLEGAL !!!!

You can just imagine the carnage by allowing anybody the right to do this. The usual scum could enjoy torturing an innocent animal then claim they were within their legal right to do so. Just ask the many vets who in the past had to clean up the mess left by others trying this outdated and barbaric practise. If the vets want this gone, and we all agree that they are the experts, then the government really need to start listening to them!
